Tavian's Shot Analysis 2017
Angle one was the angle from the side of me stepping into a pass and shooting from the foul line. As we can see that I step in with a one two step as i catch the ball me wrist is not cocked back until the very end of my shot. This is a thing I must focus on to improve my shot. I feel like I have pretty good fluidity throughout the shot follow through is good releasing the ball from the right side of my head.
Angle 2 (Camera under basket facing straight on):
Angle 2 shows a lot about my shot. From this angle we see that I release the ball to the right of my body the problem with this is that my elbow is flaring out from under the ball. I feel my release is fine its a pretty high release as well legs slightly bend to the left. My off hand is released from the ball as I go up which was a huge problem I had in the past.
Angle 3 (Camera Behind):
Angle 3 helps us see that I release my off hand off the ball before I shoot. It also shows the cock back of my wrist at the last stages of my shot which is something again I must fix. We can also see my elbow pushing out of line then quickly shifting back into line for the follow through. Again follow through seems good as wrist hangs loose after ball is released.
Things I Need To Work On To Become A Better Shooter:
- Catching the ball or beginning my shot with my wrist cocked back to be more efficient
- Keeping my Elbow in line with my body for better accuracy
- Using my of my butt in my shot to get more power for my shot instead of angling my legs
- Possibly take my off hand off the ball earlier so that its more clear that there is no interference with my off hand
